The first-place Washington Nationals picked up another win.

Washington pitcher Dan Gallaghe did his part in helping his team beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Peter Smith converted his 31st save in 34 tries.

Washington took a 5-3 lead on Rusty Tucker's 21st double of the season. The 2-run double, which Tucker hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Milwaukee pitcher Vicente Júlio visibly frustrated.

Tucker told a Washington Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.

Washington is now 88-45, 25½ games up in the National League Southern Division.
