Arizona Gets 3-2 Win
|
Dodger Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks.
Getting an impressive start from Gabriel Rodríguez, Arizona beat Los Angeles by the score of 3-2. The winner was Luis Contreras in relief. His record improves to 6-2. Vicente López took the loss. Don Davis finished to wrap up his 41st save.
Arizona used the timely hitting of Patrick Jennings to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Diamondbacks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Los Angeles manager Charles Musgrave. "But we decided not to take it."
Arizona, at 79-61, occupies second place in the National League Western Division.
