Behind the hitting of Noburo Oike, the Texas Rangers stopped the Houston Astros, 13-8. Oike hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Rangers. Jake Krause came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The win for the Rangers lifted their record to 98-42.

Oike contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Texas in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Oike took a slider from Ed Meyer and stroked the home run to right. His 38th home run of the season allowed the Rangers to leap in front, 3-1.
