Cleveland catcher Fedyenka Tiguntsev was sensational. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Pittsburgh beat the Indians, 9-8. The winner was Pittsburgh reliever Joe Strahler, now 4-4. The loser was Maresuke Ono. With the win, Pittsburgh upped its record to 78-65.

In the bottom of the fifth, Pittsburgh left fielder Spencer Knight had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Knight stroked a run-scoring single to center. It made the score 4-3, Pittsburgh. For the game, he went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Knight.
