Phillies Edge Past Twins, 5-4
|
The Philadelphia Phillies did just enough to secure a victory over the Minnesota Twins, 5-4, at Citizens Bank Park. Nobody did more than pitcher John Burns. Ids Keijzer, credited with the win, is now 7-4. He allowed no runs on no hits. After today's action, Philadelphia sits at 73-71, while Minnesota falls to 85-59.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Philadelphia first baseman Ezra Schneider, facing Víctor Ortega, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Phillies the 5-4 win.
"This place was rockin'," Schneider said.
