4-2 Loss Extends Cleveland Losing Streak
The Tampa Bay Rays beat the Cleveland Indians, 4-2. Tampa Bay designated hitter and Thonotosassa, Florida, native Armando Guillén led the way. The winning pitcher was Guillén, now 1-4. He tossed 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Fernando Gutiérrez was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 22 save opportunities.

The Rays got an important contribution from first baseman Jorge Baca, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a first pitch fastball into right for a 2-run home run. It was his 43rd home run of the season and put the Rays ahead, 3-0.

Cleveland manager Michael Healy said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
