Rays Rally to Tally 4-3 Win
|
The Tampa Bay Rays downed the Cleveland Indians, 4-3. The hitting star was center fielder Tom Pike. Pike went 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Rays. Tampa Bay reliever Pete Myers was the winner. His record is now 6-2. The losing pitcher was Jesús Morán. Cleveland is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 10 in a row.
The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Tampa Bay trailing 3-1, Pike hit a fastball from Jesús Morán for a 3-run home run, giving the Rays the walk-off win.
"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Pike said.
