Frien Torches Twins for 5 Hits
|
All game long, NWL's Mark Frien was rattling the walls at Champion Stadium and banging out base hits against the NWL Twins. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Braves had a 11-10 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 23-year-old left fielder said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
Mark Frien singled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Hiroya Asano in the 8th, hit a two-run double in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 10th.
