The home crowd had a good time watching the Milwaukee Brewers and Pittsburgh Pirates get after it.

Pittsburgh first baseman Luis Cervantes helped his team beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-2. Cervantes, who leads the NL in stolen bases with 12, went 4 for 5 for the Pirates. Pittsburgh reliever Bill Pomeroy picked up the win, raising his record to 3-0. Héctor Alemán was tagged with the loss.

The game turned with two out in the bottom of the sixth when Cervantes, who leads the NL in stolen bases with 12, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Pirates into the lead, 3-2.

"We take it day by day here," said Cervantes, "and today was a good one for us."

The loss has the Brewers at 7-6.
