The first-place Washington Nationals took on the Texas Rangers in front of a spirited crowd.

The Washington Nationals knocked off the Texas Rangers, 6-4, at Nationals Park. Kyle Lynch was a big reason Washington won. The right fielder was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Peter Smith was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.

Had Francisco Lafrosia not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Lafrosia hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Nationals.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Lafrosia said after the game.

Washington is now 12-4.
