The St. Louis Cardinals got a stellar performance from pitcher Kenny Jacobs, who handcuffed the Chicago offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Busch Stadium. Marvin Williams, now 3-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Albert Smith closed the game out for St. Louis, earning his 18th save.
