Yankees Earn 2-1 Road Win Over Boston
|
Fenway Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The New York Yankees got a magnificent effort from pitcher Seung-jin Kung, who kept Boston hitters in check en route to a 2-1 Yankees win at Fenway Park. Kung went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 4. His record improves to 7-7.
Guy Donnelly, the 26-year old right fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Donnelly contributed a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put New York up, 2-0.
Donnelly told a New York Chronicle reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
With the win, New York raised its record to 86-72.
