Marlins Double Up Washington, 4-2
|
Miami Marlins starter José De Jesús was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Washington Nationals, 4-2. The winning pitcher was De Jesús, now 2-2. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 3. Todd Brown sewed up the save, his 1st.
The Marlins got a big at-bat from third baseman Ov Jones. For the game, Jones went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Miami a 3-0 lead.
"We put together a nice win," Jones said.
