Yankees Win at San Diego, 2-0
|
New York Yankees starter Gordon Roberge worked his magic, as he helped his team defeat the San Diego Padres, 2-0. The Padres drop to 10-11 and continue their mediocre start to the 2070 season.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and one out in the top of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Tom Green, who finished 4th in the NL in stolen bases with 33 in 2062, hit a single. The Yankees went on to win.
"The old adage is true," said Green. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
