Mariners Squelch Mets Offense in Shutout Win
The New York Mets and Seattle Mariners were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Seattle Mariners went home winners at Mariner Ballpark, thanks in large part to starter Martin Davis. Davis stifled the New York Mets, enabling Seattle to grab the 6-0 win. Davis picked up the win for Seattle, going 7.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1.

The Mariners got a big at-bat from right fielder Adam O'Kearin. For the game, O'Kearin was 1-4 with a triple. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Seattle a 1-0 lead.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Davis said.

For the Mets, the loss makes their record 8-13.
