Silver Hawks Fizzle in 4-0 Loss to Kernels
|
Rod Coleman of the Cedar Rapids Kernels was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit shutout, 4-0, against the South Bend Silver Hawks.
By going the distance, he was at the same time able to give his bullpen a rest, a fact appreciated by Cedar Rapids manager .
"It's nice to have someone who can do that from time to time," he said. "He had command of every ball and every pitch. Great location, too."
Coleman had 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in the outing.
On the season Coleman has compiled a 3-4 mark with a 4.66 ERA in 8 starts. In pitching 48.1 innings he has 42 strikeouts and 12 walks while limiting the opposition to a .254 batting average.
