Phillies Stumble, Lose to Brewers

Stanley Hawkins had a hand in Milwaukee defeating Philadelphia by the score of 10-2. Hawkins went 3 for 5 at the plate, scoring 2 times and driving in 2 runs. Bruce Díaz, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 4 hits, while fanning 5 and walking 2. Milwaukee goes to 12-12.
With Milwaukee leading 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Hawkins hit a knuckle curve from Chris Smolinski for a 2-run double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Brewers ahead, 5-1.
"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Mark MacDonald.
