Contreras Wins AL Player of the Week Prize Monday, April 21st, 2059 José Contreras, known affectionately as "the old man" by the younger players in the Royals clubhouse, showed his teammates how to do it last week -- and in the process the 35-year-old vet beat out all competition for the American League Player of the Week Award. He put up a .444 batting average, 8 hits in 18 at-bats, 5 home runs and 10 RBIs. Contreras also scored 5 runs. |
