Martínez and Ortíz Suspended, Out 4 Games Sunday, July 13th , 2070 It was quite a row yesterday at Victory Field. The Indians Francisco Martínez and the Knights Pedro Ortíz backed up their angry words with a few shoves and a few swings. Then both dugouts raced onto the field and got involved in the fracas. When it was over, only Martínez and Ortíz were ejected. As expected they were informed by the league office that they would each have to serve 4-game suspensions for their inappropriate actions. On the year Martínez has hit .264 with 3 home runs, 19 RBIs and scored 41 runs. For the season Ortíz has made 4 relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 8-8 won-lost mark and a 4.71 ERA. In pitching 147 innings, he has totaled 81 strikeouts and 41 walks. |
