Hobbs Belts 3 HR Against Gwinnett Sunday, September 7th , 2070 Whatever Norm Hobbs ate for breakfast before his game against the Gwinnett Braves today, it gave him some impressive power. The Norfolk right fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Harbor Park. His home run barrage led the Tides to take the 13-3 victory over the Braves. "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-5, scored 3 times, drove in 6 and put on a display that history will remember. Norm Hobbs hit a solo-shot off Jim Alexander in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jim Alexander in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jon King in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and hit an RBI triple in the 8th. To date, Hobbs has collected 72 hits for a .216 average. He has posted 15 home runs, scored 49 runs and driven in 48 runs. |
