A battle-tested Rafael Gómez declared war on opposing pitchers last week, attacking the ball like the well-schooled veteran he is. Today the 34-year-old Sacramento catcher collected the Pacific Conference Player of the Week Award.
He wrapped up the week with a .625 average, 10 hits in 16 at-bats, 1 home run, 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
So far this year Gómez has hit .239 with 3 home runs, 15 RBIs and 11 runs scored.
