Gato Shuts Out Carolina Sunday, August 24th , 2070 Tennessee Smokies pitcher Akira Gato really got it done at Smokies Park today in his 6-0 shutout victory over the Carolina Mudcats, shutting them down on 5 hits. "It was just one of those games where everything went right. I threw a lot of strikes," Gato said. "And the pitches they did get to hit, they didn't do anything with them." The 30-year-old issued 1 walk and had 10 strikeouts in the Smokies win. In 27 starts this season Gato has fashioned a 8-7 record and a 4.96 ERA. |
