Carolina Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Tuesday, September 16th , 2070 In a series that had a little bit of everything, the Carolina Mudcats have edged the Chattanooga Lookouts. The two rival clubs went the distance in the tightly-contested Round 1, with a 8-7 win in the clincher being the difference for Carolina and giving them the ticket to the Round 2 with a 3-2 series triumph. "We never stopped believing in ourselves. When push came to shove we were going to get it done," said Álex Hernández, who was named series MVP. For the series, Hernández hit .400 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, drove in 3 RBI and scored 4 runs. The Carolina Mudcats will play against the Jacksonville Suns in the next round. Jacksonville won their series against the Mobile Bay Bears 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
