Lodge Blisters Tulsa Tuesday, June 2nd , 2071 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-6 day. For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Jack Lodge, it came around today. The 22-year-old left fielder scattered hits all over Drillers Stadium to pace the Frisco Rough Riders to a 18-3 victory over the Tulsa Drillers. Tulsa skipper told reporters in the press room that "Lodge deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Lodge hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Jack Lodge singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Albert Ruíz in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Barnes Bennemeer in the 8th. Lodge is hitting .245 this year with 3 home runs and 12 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .373, 7 walks and scored 17 times. |
