CAL Hands Out Reliever of the Year Award

He may only be 21, but Brian Lightfoot of the Bakersfield Blaze has already established himself as one of the elite relievers in the California League.

The reliever was today named the CAL Reliever of the Year Award winner for 2051.

He won the award with a strong year that saw him put up 16 saves in 55 relief appearances and 100 strikeouts in 94 innings. He had a record of 9-0 to go with his 1.82 ERA.

He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Mark Crouch of the Bakersfield Blaze finished second in voting, while Rod Madrid of the Bakersfield Blaze finished third.
