Davis Belts Bunch of Base Hits

After his 5-hit effort at Rancho Cucamonga Epicenter was tarnished by Lake Elsinore's 8-6 loss to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, center fielder Tony Davis told BNN beat writers it was "a missed opportunity for a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "I would have been happy to stop there if it meant we got a win."

He didn't get the win, but the 21-year-old had a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Quakes.

"His swing is getting there," said Storm skipper after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Tony did that to perfection today and we wasted it."

Tony Davis singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Jeffrey Alvarado in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

Thus far this year Davis has hit .305 with 2 home runs and 7 RBIs.
