Cheng Takes Charge, Blanks Brevard County Sunday, June 11th, 2051 In an outstanding mound performance, Jupiter Hammerheads starter Garrett Cheng fired a complete-game shutout against the Brevard County Manatees at Roger Dean Stadium today. Cheng was the key to the Hammerheads's 10-0 win. The 22-year-old right-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 4 hits and no walks he allowed. "4 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout." To date this season Cheng is 6-3 with 14 starts and an ERA of 2.73 with 74 strikeouts in 95.2 innings. |
