Chase Rips Cedar Rapids for 5 Hits Wednesday, May 20th , 2071 It was a magical day at the plate for South Bend Silver Hawks center fielder Gregory Chase. The 24-year-old Chase helped lift South Bend to a 12-4 win over the Cedar Rapids Kernels today at Stanley Coveleski Regional Stadium. Chase smacked 5 hits in 6 at-bats to spark his club to victory. Gregory Chase singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Bill Bowness in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 8th. So far this season Chase is batting .391 with 5 home runs. |
