Saturday, July 26th , 2070
Jesús Peguero went yard three times in a Hickory Crawdads victory over the Delmarva Shorebirds at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium today.
"I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit."
For the day, the Hickory first baseman went 3-for-4 against Delmarva with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Crawdads to the 4-2 win.
"I tell you what. I'm shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out."
Jesús Peguero hit a two-run home run off Willis Austin in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Willis Austin in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Earl Dickerson in the 9th.
Peguero is batting at a .272 pace this season, picking up 97 hits in 356 at-bats with 16 home runs, 62 RBIs and 63 runs scored.
