Reyes 5-for-6 for Fireflies Tuesday, August 26th , 2070 It doesn't happen very often, but it did for César Reyes today -- a 5-hit effort. He went on a rampage at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium and paced the Fireflies to a 7-5 win over the Kannapolis Intimidators. After his dynamite batting performance, the Columbia right fielder told reporters that he "just tried to get in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 6 tries and put his name in the record book. César Reyes grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th and singled in the 12th. Batting .274 to date, Reyes has 7 home runs and 27 RBIs. |
