The changeup was working. In an unforgettable performance, the 25-year-old Suárez fanned 16 Blue Claws and sparked the Hagerstown Suns to a 5-2 victory over Lakewood. He left Blue Claws hitters mumbling and muttering at the plate. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. "I don't know if there are many times that I've seen him throw better," said Hagerstown manager . "His location and command were really something." In addition to collecting 16 strikeouts over 7 innings, Suárez allowed 4 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing. "I thought I'd make it easy on the guys today," Suárez said with a smile. In 6 starts this season Suárez has notched a 2-3 record and a 3.61 ERA. |
