Tovar Pitches 4-0 Shutout Wednesday, August 13th , 2070 Everything clicked on the hill today for Juan Tovar as he hurled the Tri-City Valley Cats to a 4-0 shutout win over the Long Island Ducks, limiting them to 5 hits while recording 10 strikeouts and yielding 2 walks. He overpowered some batters with fastballs and buckled knees with sharp breaking pitches. "We had our shot at him a couple of different times," Ducks manager said. "We just weren't able to get to him." So far this season Tovar has a record of 7-5 with 101 strikeouts and 49 walks in 110 innings and a 5.24 ERA. |
