For many, it might come around only once in a career -- and for Juan Miranda, it came around today. The 22-year-old right fielder scattered hits all over Joseph L. Bruno Stadium to pace the Tri-City Valley Cats to a 15-0 victory over the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. Mahoning Valley skipper told reporters in the press room that "Miranda deserves a hat-tip." "He hit some good pitches against us," he said. "In fact, according to our scouting reports, Miranda hit several that he is not supposed to be able to hit." Juan Miranda hit a two-run double in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and walked in the 8th. This year Miranda has collected a .381 batting average to date with 48 hits in 126 at-bats, 33 RBIs, 6 home runs and scored 22 times. He has played in 48 games. |
