Salazar Wins GCL's Best Bat Award Monday, September 1st , 2070 It's perhaps an award he'll win many more times through his career, as at age 18 António Salazar has a lot of baseball ahead of him. But for now the young Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp star can enjoy the numbers he put up in August, which have garnered him the nod as the Gulf Coast League Batter of the Month. His breakout month featured a .365 average with 9 home runs, 23 RBIs and 22 runs scored. In 38 games this year Salazar has posted a .370 average and put up these numbers: 13 home runs, 47 RBIs and 31 runs scored. |
