Speesters End Mercer's Streak Sunday, July 20th, 2053 The 21-game hitting streak of Luther Mercer has come to an end. The GCL Cardinals second baseman went 0-for-4 today in his team's 12-1 loss to the Langhorne Speesters at Roger Dean Stadium. "It's not just Luther who came up short today," Cardinals manager said in his postgame press conference. "This was a team loss." In 25 games this season Mercer has batted at a .419 pace with 39 hits and 3 home runs. |
