Giants Get Past Cincinnati for 3-2 Win
|
The San Francisco Giants picked up a win at Great American Ball Park, knocking off the Cincinnati Reds, 3-2. Starting pitcher Alfredo Estevez was a big reason why. Danny Ocha earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Tony Gonzalez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Billy Cardenales provided a timely hit. The San Francisco third baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Giants on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Estevez said.
The first-place Giants have won 4 in a row.
