New York second baseman Shane Shifflett was instrumental in helping the Yankees triumph, 6-3, over the Cleveland Indians. Shifflett went 1-1 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. New York currently is in 4th place in the American League East Division at 27-38.

Mike Stafford had a big run-scoring triple for the Yankees in the top of the fourth inning. With New York leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a cutter from Carlos Adame, who leads the AL in innings pitched with 90.2, and swatted a triple to left-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Yankees ahead, 2-0.
