In 7 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Boston, at 50-33, is 7 games up in the American League East Division.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from left fielder Brock Paradiso. For the game, Paradiso was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season gave Boston a 2-1 lead.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Chicago manager Zigmo Thedogo, "let me know."
