White Sox Bridle Twins, 4-3
|
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Chicago White Sox got the win.
The Chicago White Sox beat the Minnesota Twins, 4-3. Chicago pitcher and San Jose, California, native Chad Simon led the way. Simon got the win, improving to 6-2. He gave up no hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. He allowed no runs. Blayne Enlow was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 5 save opportunities.
Luis Retana had a big solo home run for the White Sox in the bottom of the third inning. With Chicago leading 3-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a curveball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Dimitri Webster and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the White Sox on top, 4-0.
"I felt like I had pretty good command of mostly everything," said Simon.
The victory gives the White Sox a record of 46-35.
