Sabres Win 5th Straight, Take Down River Cats, 4-2

The Fremont College Sabres topped the Stockton College River Cats by a score of 4-2. Leading the way was designated hitter Avery Cormier. Cormier went 2 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Sabres. Anthony Fleming, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Will Jollymour closed the game out for Fremont College, earning his 4th save.
Roger Tobin had a critical at-bat with one out in the top of the sixth for Fremont College. He came through with a solo home run to put Fremont College in front, 3-1.
"We'll take some time to unwind," said Cormier, "and then get after it again."
The win brings the Sabres to 7-3, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.
