Klink Lifts Bucks to 7-4 Win
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The 7-4 Minneapolis College win over Kansas City College was due largely to John Klink. The Bucks second baseman was 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Garrett Fields, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held the Defenders to 1 run on 2 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Donald Nippard was credited with the save for Minneapolis College, his 3rd of the season.
In the top of the sixth, the Bucks found themselves in a jam. Kansas City College had the bases loaded with two out. The score was 6-1, Minneapolis College. Herman Hewitt was at the plate, hoping to deal the Bucks a serious blow. Instead, he struck out to end the threat.
The Bucks improve their record to 23-19 with the win over Kansas City College.
