Voyagers Deal Spikes 7-4 Loss
|
Saskatoon College and Santa Ana College duked it out and the Voyagers came out victorious.
The Saskatoon College Voyagers defeated the Santa Ana College Spikes, 7-4. Doing his part was first baseman Aaron Williams, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Gabe Cola, the winner, goes to 3-3. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits, with no walks and 5 strikeouts over 5.2 innings. Eddie Richard recorded the save, his 13th.
The Voyagers got a gift in the top of the ninth inning, when they were leading 5-4. With two out and the bases loaded, Elroy Tomiak reached on an error by the 2B, driving in 1 run. It made the score 6-4, Saskatoon College.
"It feels good to get this one," Tomiak told the Saskatoon College Daily.
Saskatoon College raised its record to 24-23 with the win.
