Voodoo Get Close Win Over Sharks, 3-2
|
The 3-2 Vancouver win over Seattle was due largely to Eric Schlientz. The Voodoo right fielder went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. The winner was Vancouver reliever Gary Woodside, now 3-7. The loser was Jim Adamson. The Voodoo now have a mark of 72-65.
Schlientz delivered in the clutch for Vancouver. In the bottom of the ninth, he took a full count fastball from Seattle pitcher Jim Adamson and parked it over the fence. The solo home run won it for Vancouver.
"I'm not ready for the rocking chair yet," said Schlientz.
