Picarra Leads Drillers to Win
The Turin Drillers beat the Las Vegas Pocket Aces, 13-8, at Las Vegas. The win was largely due to the efforts of center fielder Christiano Picarra, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4 for 4 with a home run, a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Turin reliever Bill Brett picked up the win to move to 1-0. Steve Berning suffered the loss. The save was credited to Yukichi Kita, his 2nd.

Picarra came through with some timely hitting for Turin. With the score 2-0 in the top of the first and one down, Picarra hit a 1-1 fastball for a grand slam home run. His 1st home run of the season made it 6-0, Turin.

"I give credit to my teammates for this win. We got it done," Picarra told the Turin News.
