Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Spiders
The Mesquite Spiders topped the Millville Wallabys by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to shortstop Jay Brecht. Brecht went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Spiders on the day. Mesquite reliever Adan Bell was the winner. His record is now 3-1. Victor Crespin took the loss. The second-place Wallabys have dropped 5 straight games.

When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Omar Garcia had a chance to be the hero. Millville pitcher Victor Crespin had other ideas. But with two outs, Garcia hit a run-scoring single. The Spiders had themselves a dramatic win.
