The Montreal Expos picked up a win at Savile Row, topping the Prince George Hawks, 4-1. On the mound for Montreal was left-hander Bill Groves. He played a principal role in the triumph. Groves, the winner, moves to 4-4. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. Montreal is now 45-17, Prince George 42-20.
Montreal went up, 4-1, on Antonio Aguilera's 6th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Aguilera hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Prince George pitcher Scott Pizzuto feeling deflated.
"My gosh almighty, Bill was tremendous," said Montreal manager George Long.
