Swindell Slugs Waveriders to 7-5 Win
|
Tampa College beat London College in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Tampa College Waveriders bested the London College Fire Ants, 7-5, at Waveriders Stadium. Rusty Swindell was one of the standouts. He slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The save was credited to Chris Amell, his 8th.
Swindell put Tampa College up, 6-0, when he hit a 3-run home run off David Hiers in the bottom of the third. His 22nd home run of the season helped the Waveriders capture the win.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Swindell told the Tampa College Daily News.
The win puts Tampa College at 17-16 this season.
