Fightin Whites Win 2-1 Walk-Off

In a low-scoring tilt between the Syracuse College Fightin Whites and the Norfolk College Bighorns, David Gest was the difference-maker. The Syracuse College left-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Syracuse College reliever Jonathan Fitzpatrick was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Jonathan Ruiz took the loss. The Fightin Whites sport a record of 18-30.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the ninth, Josh Cisse had a chance to be the hero. Norfolk College pitcher Jonathan Ruiz had other ideas. But with one out, Cisse hit a sacrifice fly. The Fightin Whites had themselves a dramatic win.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Gest told a Syracuse College Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
