The Noumea Devils beat the Lae Kumuls, 4-3. Noumea pitcher and Homei, Taiwan, native Hsui-chuan Sang led the way. Evan van Adrichem, now 2-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 2 and walking 0. The win gives Noumea a record of 8-6.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Noumea shortstop Epafasi Afeaki, facing David Smith, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Devils the 4-3 win.

"Bottom line," said Lae skipper Adam Brisske, "we didn't play well enough to win."
