Avarua Dazzled, Tao Hurls No-Hitter Monday, June 7th , 2049 Kerisiano Tao relied on excellent pitch selection and pinpoint control to hold Avarua hitless in a 5-0 win at Ballpark of Avarua today. "Nobody goes out to pitch a no-hitter," he said later. "We just go out and try to get a win. A 10-9 win is better than a 1-0 loss. My pitching buddies might not be too happy giving up nine runs but a win is a win. The key to it today was I mixed my pitches well. I kept the Kiore off balance and guessing the whole game." The 31-year-old starter rung up 8 strikeouts and 1 walk in whipping the Kiore. "When a guy is throwing strikes the way he was and is locating well, it is going to be a long day for any club," Avarua skipper Adam Brisske said. Tao has made 5 starts this season, posting 2 wins and no losses. Opposing clubs are batting .189 against him and he has 40 strikeouts in 35.2 innings with a 2.78 ERA.
